INTENSIVTRAINING
This is where the conditions for individual development are created.
The main focus will be on attitude, as even 9 hours of training per week is quite demanding. This can only be achieved if the student has a positive attitude toward this level of stress and their academic performance doesn't suffer as a result!
All thoughts and actions are directed toward tennis, and training and tournament planning becomes mandatory. Slowly, everything has to be subordinated to tennis planning.
This is the phase where personality development begins; this is where the player type is shaped and developed. (Federer is Federer; Nadal is Nadal; no copies – I am me!).
Tennis is an interesting tactical racquet sport that involves many ideas and subtleties, but despite all of this, the basics are of great importance in all areas.
Main training goals:
1. Meeting point
2. Body center of gravity/balance
3. Technical-tactical striking
4. Footwork
5. Serve and return
During this phase, the full tournament program can already be played, as at this level of performance there are already 30 – 50 matches per year.
This is where the relationship of trust between athletes, parents and coaches begins!
